Weird Ralph

The first few scenes are fairly reminiscent of the book. Rand, Mat, and Perrin look about the way you'd expect. But Rand and Egwene are having sex, Perrin is *married* for crying out loud, and the episodes go downhill from there. Apart from the characters having the same names as the ones from the book - and some of the settings being the same, this is almost nothing like Robert Jordan's masterpiece. Utter dreck! They'll probably make a second season, but I don't expect a third will ever be filmed.

Believe it or not, any show where the main protagonist's name is "Ralph" is fine by me!

We really wanted to like this movie. Unfortunately, the whole thing seemed forced, and it utterly jumped the shark with an over-the-top gospel number in the airport featuring a break-dancing Santa. Hard pass!

Not a great film by any definition, but fun and entertaining. The only major weak spot is in Peter Fonda's portrayal of Mephistopheles - which can at least partly be blamed on bad writing. On the whole, though, a pleasant enough diversion if you can get it for free. Do not, however, bother with the sequel. Ghost Rider 2 is nigh unwatchable.
