Kanguva is an all show, no go.
Saw the movie recently and I have mixed feelings about it. First of all let me clear this the movie isn't as bad as people claim it on the internet. Ofcourse it's not even close to Suriya's best of all times, but it's a pretty good entertainer. Here's what I found good and bad about the movie.
THE GOOD
1. Suriya's performance ofcourse. There's no denying Suriya does what he does the best.
2. The costume and set design for the past sequence. It's amazing, everything felt so real.
3. The second part of the movie. The past sequence of the movie uplifts the project overall. The ending is even much better and sets up for a sequel. There's also a cameo at the end.
THE BAD
1. DSP's music. It's terrible, terrible at best. It's so loud, it's annoying. Sometimes you can't even hear what's the character is saying because of the extremely loud music. The action scenes are kinda ruined because of the music.
2. The present sequence or the first 30 mins of the movie is extremely cringe and outdated. Idk why Disha Patani even exists in this movie.
3. It's also about the direction of the present sequence. Whenever you compare the past and the present sequence, it feels like they are directed by 2 different directors. While the past sequences are nicely executed, the present sequence feels very amateur. The camera angles just flash from one screen to another.
Overall, it's a good one time watch. The ending had me hyped up a little for the sequel (if they ever green lit it). Every movie nowadays have a "sequel making" syndrome. So let's hope we get to know the end of this story.
