The first episode was rough. I suppose it did its job of establishing the characters and their world, but felt disjointed and had some weird pacing, and a dumb "mystery box" sort of reveal that the wife is in prison but no explanation.
By the end of the second episode it felt like it was done setting up and could explore some ridiculous situations within the world they established.
Most of the rest of the first season was a good mixture of genuinely funny and heartfelt moments that made it enjoyable to watch and I think it will only continue to improve if it has a second season.
