This film feels like it is putting right every issue I had with the Tom Holland Spider-Man films in one go (I will try and make this as spoiler-free as possible, as much of the surprises are covered in the trailers) while also correcting a lot from previous Spider-Man films... such as Electro being blue.
The thing is, Tom Holland is a great Spider-Man, but I always felt like he had an unfair advantage with Iron-Man giving him the suit in the MCU. There was also no Uncle Ben moment that gave him his purpose or focus. And essentially that has all been taken care of now - which kinda just makes the previous movies better too.
With Green Goblin ditching that silly mask in favour of the much more terrifying face of Willem Dafoe, it repairs another mistake of the franchise. I used to want more comic-book correct depiction of Goblin, but this will do.
It is just a fantastic, nostalgic trip... And in some ways, I hope that ifthe film breaks the records it is set to, we might see a similar nostalgia trip in the future.
