The book, which was written in the point of view of Jack, and his innocent narration of the horrible conditions they live in is wonderfully told with the director and writer incorporating his words with the shockingly real set and acting give this movie not only a realistic feel, but a tone that is light, yet incredibly deep. The simple set, combined with the actual home-like, lived in details makes it seem as though the two actors were actually living the lives they portrayed. It's a wonderful story about life, and definitely a must see!
