Watching the movie as it pulled me along, suddenly it hit me, without me realizing it initially, the story was a modern-day Huckleberry Finn tale. I was so absorbed with the characters and their adventures that I was taken out of space and time, wondering what would happen next and excited about what new characters would make their appearances as the story unfolds.
What makes Mark Twain's books, and this movie special, is the uniqueness and the ordinariness of the people that inhabit the movie made so powerful by the combination of the beautiful ocean scenery, the wonderful background music and time seemingly to almost stop. No hurry on our part; things will work themselves out.
