I really liked this drama! It has a very cliche plot-line as well as many cliche scenes in it, so if you're a fan of that that's great!
The characters were very well-executed and they had so much personality to all of them. I think that was the main reason why this was so enjoyable. I found myself feeling especially bad for the second lead, Chu Yan. Unlike other second leads in other dramas, he truly cared for the main female lead and didn't try (very) hard to disrupt her relationship. He was very caring and kind towards her so it was heart-wrenching to watch his heart get broken.
It was a bit difficult to root for the main guy during the second half of the first season though because his true, manipulative side came out. I'm sure many of the people at home wanted the female lead to dump him right then and there. However, he learned how to love and respect his partner without crossing the line (debatable).
Many people were complaining about how the second season doesn't directly link with the first one but here's my take on it:
The first season ended perfectly. What good would it be to milk it out more? The plot already wrapped itself up and all the evil was gone. In my opinion, I think it would feel forced to continue the storyline. The fact that there's a second season in a parallel world(?) just proves the title: Well-Intended Love. The two leads are bound to fall in love with each other, no matter the circumstances. Everyone should just appreciate that we got to see the same lovely cast again (upgraded in appearances and personality as well!).
Anyways, I loved both seasons and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a sappy love story, loves cliche moments, or even someone who just found it on Netflix (it's a great gateway drama).
