People that claim this book hurts Freddie's memory are just not experienced enough in life to realize that's not true. I enjoyed it a great deal. There was no shade cast on Freddie. Some people are not interested in facts & details, & that's OK, but don't run others who do have interest in them down! I very much enjoyed the details, even about when Freddie died, but I'm a retired R.N.--so I'm used to seeing people die. It was very touching. Jim Hutton is just telling it like it was in his own, unique perception, & that's fine. I respect Elton John now, which I never did before I knew he was a faithful friend to Freddie. I don't know what to think about Mary since we don't have her side of this. I do know that those who are close to a person are frequently jealous of the others who are, despite trying not to be. If you love Freddie, get the book.
