Not overly sentimental but realistic view of lonely lives of different and complex people with the introduction of a new element. Beautifully executed characters and the setting is the icing on the cake.

Loved Kevin Costner in the field with the boys and portrayal of how the odds are stacked against these kids. It could be sappy but based on true story and Costner's skill, I watched every minute.
