neeli zinda hai is fun to watch. it beautifully portrays how paranormal meets the normal, making life not-so-normal for amaan and his family in his newly bought house. it appears as if neeli and the house are one. she's literally everywhere: in the chest, in the doll, in the painting, in the wall and popping in and out of thin air. the most scary thing about her is that she's a changeling. she can merge with anyone's body, copies that form and makes a duplicate image making it quite difficult to identify her. up till ep.9 neeli only haunts amaan's wife sumbul and his maid nagina, befriends his daughter minal but doesn't show or make her presence known to amaan yet. the whys and whens keep us in suspense with the flickering lights, rattling sounds, gushing wind and haunting tune playing in the background. neeli is a drama that haunts the mind more than it haunts the eyes so if you're interested in psychological thriller this is the drama for you. it's a story about people and culture where the present meets the past with faith, beliefs & modern medicine sandwiched in between.

Despite my very poor grasp of the language, as I only learned it from youtube and the internet during lockdown , episodes 1-10 kept me glued to the screen. A wonderful drama with heartbreaking conflicts and complexes crucial to our understanding of human and humanity. This drama keeps one mentally active and constantly processing what's going on making it a very much welcomed literary sport where one is compelled to check and recheck one's guesses as different angles to the conflicts and complexes gradually unfold. Hats off to the writer and the production team. I have one humble request. Could you kindly add English subtitles to help those of us who are either very poor in urdu or don't speak urdu at all to understand and appreciate the drama and by the grace of God gain some insights from it.
