“I’ve got the keyyy, I’ve got the secrettt”. I’m a big fan of previous movies in this franchise and whilst the technical level of this one is still highly impressive and sophisticated the plot is preposterous, the dialogue at times laughable as is the general writing very unfortunately. The fact the entire story revolves around two interlocking pieces of a bejewelled key that would be more at home in an Indiana Jones movie yet somehow controls a futuristic digital AI rogue force called “The Entity” is beyond ridiculous. It’s probably time Cruise disentangles himself from his partnership with McQ if this is the sort of gibberish that results. Half the joy of these movies is the IMF team pull off the missions together each a valued member for their special skill sets, but for the majority of the movie they’re AWOL. And it’s just Cruise adoringly looking after & protecting Hayley Atwell aka Grace. Surprisingly disappointing film. Shame as was looking forward to it for a while!

Incredible flight sequences, great story, but there were times when I yearned for the some of the old soundtrack classics to kick in and give us that feel good, slightly carefree 80s vibe. Instead we predictably get Zimmer produced by the equally omnipresent Lorne Balfe. This really takes the charm out of this movie - which is still a white knuckle ride and at times genuinely moving don’t get me wrong. Incredible film making - but it just misses the spark and magic of the original, I think because of the soundtrack, the only real highlight is Lady Gaga on this count. But it still made my spine tingle on many occasions. Great stuff.

Heart warming, feel good comedy/drama… surprisingly good and extremely watchable. Toni Collette is great as always, ably supported by a great cast. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Absolutely superb political thriller. Honestly the best ITV drama I’ve seen. The writing and direction are a different class to most TV thrillers as is the exceptional central performance from Helen McCrory, who will be greatly missed. Michael Gambon adds further class to what is a complex, multi layered and relevant conspiracy in the world of manipulated news and information we live in today from illegal wars, rendition flights and cover ups. A must watch, bravo ITV and to all involved. More like this please!

Absolutely first class writing, direction, acting. Wish there were more like this!

Absolutely dreadful and incoherent. Random unrelated cases with no resolution and no clear narrative. The investigator / presenter is so slow and dull.
