I'm only about 5 hours into the game. Great story thus far. It's kind of slow moving, but engaging. It looks great running on the PS5. It has crashed twice on me back to back in the same area about 4 hours in. Other than that, I haven't seen too many bugs or glitches. Loading times have been fast and smooth. The gun play feels a little off and It gets 4 out of 5 stars from me so far. I'll see how it is about 20 hours in and update the review. Hopefully it stays consistent.
Update 20 hours in:
I've lowered my rating to 3/5 stars. Don't get me wrong, the story is EXCELLENT and I'm having a blast playing, however, the game has been consistently crashing once an hour. I've gotten more comfortable with the gunplay, but it still feels off (feels heavy). I'm really enjoying the game, but the crashes really cut back on the immersion factor. Hopefully this issue is addressed in a future patch(s), but I still feel that this should be a non issue considering how long this game has been in development. All in all, I would still recommend playing this game; as long as it's instability doesn't discourage you from playing it. Ghosts of Tsushima still has my game of the year vote.
40 hours of gameplay:
I found that the game crashes less in HDR mode on the PS5, which I find odd. The story remains excellent and as you progress and figure out how to build and what you want to build for, the game becomes very dynamic. I found frame rate drops when using the ping quick hack, but that's okay because the game is back to 4/5 stars for me. There is so much texture to this game that it almost feels like I can replay it and enjoy a different experience. Cyberpunk 2077 would rank 5 stars for me if it weren't for the crashing issues, but they appear mostly common when in a vehicle. I've never had the game crash mid combat or during action on quests. CDProjectRed really outdid themselves.
