Cold war is kind of a weird cod game. I originally just bought this game for zombies, but I decided to check out the other parts and I have mixed feeling about all of it.
The multiplayer in my opinion isn't very good. There isn't a middle ground for most guns, they're either op or terrible. I personally prefer the system for creating your classes in this game over the pick 10 in past black ops games, but it does have flaws. Because of there being so many attachments it makes a lot of sense to remove it, but it doesn't make the game much better considering all of the good attachments are locked behind hours of grinding that the developers can't decide if it should be fast or unbearable. Whenever I play I personally have to run flak jacket and tac mask because of how many grenades you can spam in the game. There aren't many maps and most of them feel clunky. Personally I don't mind skill based matchmaking but if you're more casual it can be frustrating sometimes. If you buy cod games just for multiplayer I would recommend a skip on until they make more balanced changes.
Zombies greatly exceeded my expectations in this game and is one of the reason I actually want to play this game. The zombies is a nice blend of new and old ,with some added twists. I have talked to many people that haven't played in a while and they picked it up very easily and enjoyed it. The high rounds are very fun. The guns in zombies feel more satisfying than ever. If you want a zombies experience I highly recommend this game.
The campaign didn't have a bad story and it was very immersive. Though the campaign was short and even while playing on realistic wasn't very difficult. I would recommend buying this game just for the campaign but if you buy it I highly recommend playing through it at least one time.
I have very mixed feeling about this game but overall it's pretty average for a recent cod game.
