SPOILER FREE Brilliant entry into the series, don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved Prometheus (although it lacked the Xenos) and Covenant scratched that itch for me, but Romulus really sets some superb fear and horror back into the series again. Raw, high tension scenes with perfected horror and new twists really make this unmissable. I’ve been watching these films along with the Predator films since I was probably 10, and it really was a brilliant film. I’m trying not to spoil anything, but the way it sets the atmosphere and really brings the face huggers in particular into a new, disturbingly good spotlight was so refreshing to see. Don’t waste your time on the reviews that might be bashing it or giving some truly odd critiques, this is one for old and new fans alike.

SPOILER FREE REVIEW I’ve played all Dark Pictures games, except Quarry and Devil in Me. Devil in Me will be the next I play one it gets a little cheaper. House of Ashes… wow. Brilliant game. I’m knocking one star off solely because of the AI being quite annoying majority of the time, and the camera being very clunky too. I had a lot of moments trying to spin my character around or look other directions and it was very frustrating. But if I could give 4.5 I would. In my opinion, I would rank the games as Until Dawn, House of Ashes, Little Hope, Man of Medan. I really didn’t enjoy MoM that much, but they’re all good games nonetheless. But I was soo hooked on House of Ashes, I had to stick with it and play through it in one sitting. Brilliant characters, great jokes and humour (not corny etc), very heartwarming story about putting aside differences and working together. I DID unfortunately feel like by the end game, I was playing through a game based off of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. Once you play the game (and if you’ve seen the film) you’ll understand where I’m coming from. Like, it was really weird how closely the elements and designs are just like Prometheus. But it was still a fantastic game. The horror is kind of turned down a notch, I think for me just because of what the “enemy” actually is. It was more like a thriller. I already am under the impression that Devil in Me will be more horror focused, so I’m really looking forward to getting through that. Overall a strong entry and supermassive games are doing a brilliant job. Hopefully we get loads more of entries in the series!

Spoiler free review. Honestly a fantastic entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology. Really great cast, and the story was strong from start to finish. I did find it pretty easy to keep everyone alive in this entry, I almost wish it was a little more difficult. The curator is a great character as per usual, and the soundtrack is great in this game. The lore and history in the game is really interesting to delve into and I really enjoyed the story behind everything, but the game truly shines in its ending which was in my opinion, very surprising and a fantastic twist that I didn't see coming. It really ties everything in and left me shocked. I look forward to going through House of Ashes and the Devil in Me come November.

Honestly as a huge fan of biblical and various religious stories and films on the prophets, I think this film is excellent in every aspect especially with the fantastic acting from Joel Edgerton and Christian Bale. Joel is absolutely fantastic in his role and really brings out the emotion and torn nature of Pharaoh, and ultimately becomes a powerful villain. I've watched it numerous times and will always be a favourite of mine.

Absolute masterpiece. Must watch. Literally Oscar worthy performances from the cast.
