Lots of hugs, some tearless crying, good production design, fine costumes and sets, excellent cinematography, really, really bad script - drags, lots of filler, musical and otherwise - left the actors with little conviction. Nevertheless, a really interesting concept that could be adapted relinquishing, of course, the silly ending where her loss of having men stand when she arrives at the table and open doors for her is intolerable, after all.

Dark, yes - a comedy, hardly. Well-paced, fantastic scenery and sets, swell if quirky costumes, this drama leavened with hints at humor is brilliantly cast, finely directed and well-performed. Truly worth your time.

The writing, the acting, the cinematography, the music, everything perfect. A truly excellent mini-series all around. Find the time to see this.

Pretty good stuff - from the writing, the dialogue, and the acting to the pacing and cinematography - all very well put together. My only issues are that they could at least have paired Finley with Curtis so they have a happy ending, too. That, and that the boxers were the standout stars of the pix who didn't get enough screentime.

The 2007 film is absolutely laugh out loud terrific. Excellent screenplay, gifted British cast, genius director and very funny.

An excellent beginning, a decent middle but an absolutely inane last act wherein we find out that our heroine, instead of being who we were led to believe was a world class bodyguard, turns out to be a Disney princess.

A very unsatisfying film with Farrell especially and McGregor not quite as much hamming it up. In the first half they plot and then kill off rich Uncle Howard's partner in the most absurd way imaginable. The second half is spent by Farrell hand-wringing with a guilty conscience while McGregor blithely goes on as if nothing happened until at the very last moment he suddenly develops a conscience, too. What we're left with is a two women and the brothers' parents lives destroyed while the rich uncle gets away with it all.

Shoulda been called Joan (Wick, at least a wanna be) what with the fight scenes and all, the touching relationship with a girl rather than a dog this time. Alas, unless she's cured of the lethal radioactive stuff that's taken little effect that some Sudafeds alleviate there can be no sequel unless of course the dog , er, girl, takes over.

"There's no such thing as an unwritten life" but there sure is an unwritten script! The biggest con in this movie is that there's a movie worth watching. Admittedly, there are well written scenes but they're stitched together - some with nary a sense of a transition - adding up to a nice travelogue with some really swell location shots so, two stars for them and Rachel gamboling about.

A charming, delightful insight into relationships, well paced, sensitive and insightful whether between people or between people and institutions and their absurd bureaucracies.
