Excellent exploration of morality and the murky in-between of justice. Policing is both rigid and subjective. Opposites collide. Martin Freedman is a great choice for the role. Totally convincing as a stressed out cop on the edge of cracking, as a viewer I also get flashbacks of his ernest role as a porn position model in Love Actually Again nothing's black and white. Took a few episodes to get hooked

Sophia Coppola's dreamy Priscilla sets the claustrophobic stage for predatorial grooming and coercive abuse. Elvis is not really Elvis in this film. He's some kind of remote giant. Aloof we often see his back. There's little Elvis music. When we do hear it it's grainy and distant not absorbing. The film's soundtrack is post-elvis, slightly punk, for example the Ramones covering the Ronettes 'baby i love you'. Surreal twists happen within this dreamy state, although this is subtle so as to barely register, almost 'gaslighting' the viewer. Elvis's ever-present entourage of goofy nameless men who provide a twittering "jockular" backdrop, a posse with no identity. Priscilla's beehives grow bigger as the situation grows more outlandish, culminating with an ultimate cartoonish helmet larger than her head, as reality has grown more remote and huge in proportion. We snap into a sobering awareness like a slap in the face. Priscilla snaps back to her natural hair color. . The reality check is a quick one and it's one of pure release for the audience because things were getting pretty oppressive up until that point. I would give this probably four out of 5. Actually at the moment I'm thinking I'll see how I feel in the morning. I didn't see it by myself, but in terms of the sense of peaceful angst and passivity I just felt so enraged. From the point of view it was a feminist film and I loved it and that's what I'm giving it four out of five.

I give it 3.8 stars. It went on too long, slumped around the 3/4 mark and the soundtrack was predictable. Otherwise a fun stylish film with a powerful heroine. Emma Stone is great as the empathic feisty heroine out for revenge and justice. The costumes, jewellry and decor were spot-on, just edging towards overly-controlled, but this added to the feeling of a parable/fairytale. For example, even the coffee mugs that Cruella and her 'brother' use are styled. This is why the music irritated me, what's an 80s soundtrack doing here? Does it reflect the director's age, a copyright/cost thing, Disney family ratings, or.... ELOs Living Thing did not relate to a 'swinging from the chandeliers' scene, the nostalgia jarred, and supertramps' Logical Song at the start? Especially as the rest of the style is edgy and set in 70s Punk London. Anyhow overall well worth a watch.

Natalie Portman, Sia, and blah were all involved in making this film. I have to ask why? It was boring, pretentious, and missed whichever profound point they were trying to make

Epic allegory about global warming, unsettling disturbing and terrifying in all the right ways. Making the political personal and setting a new directive for art about climate change. The depictions of human greed, ego and misogyny gripped me in the gut once I realised what it was about.

Thoughtful and totally relevant. Subtle metaphors. The band is a bit annoying but the three singing graces from Ukraine tie that together. I love European - and Icelandic - movies for showing real people, not glamour. A brave and resourceful film. Beautiful.
