Really well made and gutsy film, considering the political context. The script keeps it personal without falling into direct social or political comment and tight editing keeps it engaging to the very end. Some of it - the experience of the hijra temple - is a bit fantasy-land, but charming enough to be excused. Zakir Hussain's tabla playing is the icing on the cake... A must watch, if only to salute the courage to put out an independent film with this context and face up to the bigotry of our times in India.

Perhaps the best series I have ever seen on any platform...we would all be better human beings for having spent a few intense hours with it....

The plot is cliched, however it is very refreshing to have insight into life in SA and all the various dialects are beautiful to encounter.

A beautifully understated and shot film. The documentary style, if anything, suits the subject matter. The fate of the cubs should have been better established at the end though, to provide some relief to the viewer. One would hope it touches some chords in the right places.....

A set of vignettes esconced in the times of Covid that celebrates humanity. A bit cliched and predictable, but still worth the watch if you like realist cinema with more than a touch of angst and melancholy. Great actors all through. Lovely strong female leads.

Things are bad enough in real life without shows like these to screw with any faith we might have left in humanity, justice, courage and truth. Leave alone politics and democracy.

Brilliant and beautiful. The characterisation is brilliant and one misses them when it's over.

Weird, but if you follow batchelor nation - watchable in the same genre

High on potential, but doesn't really deliver. The actors and characters are intriguing but nothing adds up and they really don't have much to do.. the movie ends up being a frustrating watch.

Heartbreaking from the eyes of a boy caught between parents too busy with their own miseries to be parents... It happens to too many children, unfortunately. Beautifully made as a movie but painful for the soft hearted.
