I think it's difficult to determine what's true and what isn't. Remini says she's providing a public service; Scientology claims she is exploiting an opportunity. Possibly both are true. A former church member named Marty Rathbun, who was a senior executive in the organization prior to leaving in 2004, says that Remini approached him about"setting the church up." Rathbun has no regard for the church or its leader, but apparently retained enough integrity to reject an invitation to be part of fraudulent attacks. Do I believe Remini capable of this? Yes. Is it also possible that, no matter the motivation, Remini will shine a spotlight on the unholy practices of many religions? Yes. Obviously, neither Remini nor her guests provide any documentary evidence of their allegations; if they did, law enforcement would have stepped in. But the show is a start. Next up, the Catholic Church?
