I have read the Bridgeton series by Julia Quinn a while back and never thought anyone would make it come alive. I was happy with the series especially how actors of color were used to show equality. For once, it wasn't centered around race and it gave chance for the actors to play a part in historical pieces that's not about slavery. I read some of the lower reviews and it looks like all those people had problem with using black actors. Some are stating that they are trying to rewrite history. Oh please we all know how people of color were treated back then. No one is using a Netflix show as a history book. A fictional story where it shows everyone as equal isn't going to erase what really happened. It is not a true story. So I think the writers and casting people can do whatever they want. If you are truly not racist then this would not be such a problem for you. No one has an issue when white actors try to portray other races, but this you take issue with when another race does the same thing.
