I thought that Joker was magnificent. I know that there has been less than perfect reviews, (hello Guardian), but I love the idea of humanizing a super villain and opening up their motivation. I thought Pheonix was heartbreaking and the story behind Joker and Bruce Wayne was also very believable, although I suppose that people really appreciate the idea of motiveless violence as opposed to telling the story behind the madness. I think Pheonix was terrifying though, because when someone who has been let down so much finally cracks, it can be the scariest thing in the world.
