The greatest entrance (Welles) and the greatest exit (Valli) in film history. A fool of a protagonist (Cotten). A tiresome know-it-all (Howard). Wonderful music. Sinister streets. A Vienna utterly unlike the charming one of the last two decades. One must see this film.
