𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐧 is an amazing collection of short mythological stories accompanied with beautiful illustrations done in contemporary Madhubani art. This book contains stories from the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, it has stories of Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesha as well as some lesser known stories like that of Jayadratha and Karna's birth. 🌸 All the stories are short and very interesting to read, they are written in simple language aimed at school going children. The best thing about this book is that it shows us what we can learn from these magnificent tales and you will be amazed to see how these lessons are so relevant even in the modern times. 🌸 I just loved reading it, it was so simple and beautiful as well as meaningful and filled with life lessons. If you have any younger brother/sister or son or daughter, this book will make a great gift for them.

Taran came with his mother and elder brother to the beach for Ganpati Visarjan, little did he know that his life is going to change soon. He was envious of his brother's silver necklace that he got as a gift and he snatched it during a playful fight and ran away from him. Taran got lost and his brother was nowhere to be seen, he encountered a preta on his way to a cave. When he entered the cave, he realised that it was a Ganpati temple. To Taran's astonishment, the Ganpati was not just another idol, it was moving and started talking to him. Taran was informed that he was "a chosen one" and his purpose is to help Ganpati by retrieving his relics from the Veiled lands. He got to know about the Temple Wars, about the Nagas and Vritra's quest to reach the Gateway of Moksha. Thus began a story full of action, adventure and thrill. The book is engaging, interesting and written in a simple language. The cover is colourful and vibrant. The plot is nice and the story is entertaining. A good and light read for people of all ages but I think teens will enjoy it more!
