An excellently written account of Reichl's time as a food critic with the NYT. Reichl draws the reader in immediately with tales of disguise and deception at some of the top New York resturants of the time (1990s). It's a fantastic glimpse into a fickle and sometimes pompous world, but Reichl brings it down to earth.
A great non-fiction read for anyone with an interest in good food and good writing. It is equal measures funny, witty, sad, inspiring and infuriating. Worth buying.
