I my opinion this guitarist from Italy, a young man in his early twenties, beautifully and expressively plays some of the finest pieces written for the guitar (violao?) that are available to the internet audience today. As a guitarist myself for over 40 years I was delighted to discover the music of this composer from Brazil, Dilermando Reis. Upon hearing this recording, I decided I had to learn some of these fabulous pieces and actually can now include most of them in my repertoire. I love playing them and my friends and students also appreciate their wonderful melodies and sometimes unusual harmonies. My Brazilian friend Yamandu Costa also introduced me to some of the other works on this album not by Sr. Reis, namely Abismo de Rosas by "Canhoto". A work by another composer from Argentina, Paulinho da Viola, is called "Itanhanga. The discovery of guitar music coming out of South America today should be on every serious guitarists agenda! Thanks for this album!!! John Mortenson
