PADMAAVAT Review: It’s magnificent & opulent just like any other Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. You got to watch it for the outstanding acting by almost everyone in the movie. Ranveer is Allaudin Khilji at his best! There’s no way you won’t hate the character. I don’t think anyone could have portrayed Allaudin like the way Ranveer has...monstrous and menacing Muslim invader who’s atrocious and heinous beyond repair. Deepika’s acting is also amazing. Her costumes decorously stunning! The protests against the movie are so lame as the movie only aims to portray and showcase Rajputi aan baan & shaan...their valour, sacrifice, heroism & glory! Padmavati’s character comes out to be full of honour & pride, a strong, confident, intelligent woman of her time. As an audience you can only be in awe of her character who is an exceptional combination of beauty & brains. Shahid plays Rawal Ratan Singh with utmost precision, the Rajput ruler of Mewar who embodies Rajputi ethos and would choose death before dishonour! However, the film looses its pace and is a drag at certain times, without enough meat & flesh for the audience to devour on. But overall the movie is a visual delight and is quintessentially exquisite and the cinematography upholds grandeur & revery.
Amidst all the controversies, go watch the movie!
