Let me agree with the previous one star reviews saying 1. they didn't laugh once through this (I know some would say it's a dark comedy but it isn't effective as a dark comedy), 2. it's soulless, and 3. how could Rotten tomatoes give this a 97%. I've generally agreed with RT in the past but I'm beginning to think they've sold out. Spoiler alert here.. in order for this to be effective as a comedy or a drama there needed to be more development of the murder victims characters as evil dimwits so the viewer could get more satisfaction and empathize more with the protagonists murdering them. About the best I could say about it it is that the plot was a cute idea with possibilities that failed on execution. Note to self: Trust the user aggregate rating more than metacritic IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes.

We should have been able to see the finale. After all it felt like I was watching this for 400 years. Not enough interesting stuff going on. We just kept learning more about the plot from the actors who serve more as narrators than participants. I think we generally look for a sense of urgency in an aliens taking over the Earth scenario and the 400 year time period just doesn't excite you enough to get you off the couch. Some good acting though. Please no season 2 I don't have another 400 years lol.

I really wanted to like this series as they say lol. Watched through season 2. The new young actors are so good, very engaging. But there are too many subplots each of which isn't given time to develop and therefore more confusing than meaningful. I found myself constantly searching the web for clarifications and explanation of terms. I needed a glossary to define the various types of wizards, their powers and the histories and politics of the various factions and ethnicities. The plot is imaginative and cool but there wasn't enough spectacle or grit. Last battle scenes over destruction of the fold were more like door to door combat in world war II Germany or a video game than a fantasy finale.

One full hour into this movie and we are still on the opening scene which consists of the princess splitting skulls and shoving blades in the necks of the castle invaders. Literally nothing happens in that time other than some very predictable brief flashbacks of how it came to this. Were I have 10-14 year old girl I might identify and enjoy watching a swashbuckling young princess, but this movie sure ain't brain food.

This is the most I've ever disagreed with prior reviews. I'm one of the biggest Jeff Bridges fans short of becoming a Latter-Day Dude. Anything Jeff Bridges is an automatic watch and I don't remember anything he's done that I didn't like. But this is just another stretched out over prolonged low budget yarn. I'm on episode 5 and find myself not at all hanging on the edge of my chair wanting to find out what the series of events with Hamzad and Emily was that led us to Chase's current state of affairs. As a matter of fact I had to rewatch the last 20 minutes after I fell asleep. I'm just plain bored with it and the only reason I'm still watching is because Bridges is in it.

Captain Peter goes to fightertown. Perfect for sub 100 IQs. Always thought Cruise was a waste of protoplasm. This proves it. It was empty as a film as Cruise is empty as a human. A glorification of kill people and break things with the added sanitization of the viewer never seeing the "enemies'" faces. Better that way so we can more freely project our hatred and enjoy blowing them up without reservation. I'm having dreams of Kim Jung-un chasing Cruise around a soccer field firing anti-aircraft guns.

So believable I felt like I was sitting in the parlor with them. Powerful and thought provoking. So sad that Season 2 episode 5 goes off a cliff leaving all the story lines waiting for conclusions. Gonna really hurt if HBO doesn't produce more episodes.

I am 1 hour and 14 minutes into a 1 hour and 42 minute movie 90% of which has taken place as a conversation between Henry and Celia in a bar of a fancy wine district restaurant. The other 10% is flashbacks to conversations relevant to a hijacking that took place years before. I won't be watching the last 28 minutes to see if this yawner develops into something interesting lol. I also agree with the other reviewers that the sex scene was unnecessary. I went out to the garage twice to tend to my laundry while they were in the act and came back in and they were still going at it. Maybe they decided to add it because they realized that the rest of the blame thing was so damned boring.

Forget! I said forget, ANYTHING you see that rates this less than five stars or less than 100%. I've never binge-watched any series back to back twice but I did for the first three episodes! I laughed my butt off. Love the story and screenplay, actors are top notch. I'm going to have a hard time leaving any Rotten Tomatoes ratings from now on. This show is one of my all-time favorites - a clear winner even for an old guy like me.

Good script, beautiful cinematography, beautiful sets beautiful music but is mine the only jaw that dropped at how profusely terrible the acting is?
