Slightly wacky but emotional and funny as f*ck in places. Some great characters. I've mainly seen Rosalie Craig (Kitty) in theatre productions, not so much on tv in this kind of role (she was in Moonflower Murders) and she was absolutely brilliant as Kitty and her performance is well worthy of an award. Fabulous writing from Sally Wainwright who writes both sexes so well but especially women. An all round talented cast too. Binge watched in an afternoon and was left wanting more so luckily, they've left it wide open for another series.

First episode you feel the shock and disbelief that the parents feel and you feel sorry for the accused, a scared 13 year old boy, someone's son, brother, grandchild. Second episode really highlighted what teachers have to put up with in regards to children's behaviour in school and attitudes towards the police. Seemingly very little impact on the kids that a young girl has died. Are kids really that desensitised by what would've been completely shocking 30 plus years ago? I thought the involvement of Jade, Ryan and Tommy could've been delved into a bit more to provide some background to the motive. E.g. Jade was extremely angry / aggressive from the off and I really wanted to know why? (apart from the fact her best friend had died) Is she really meant to be 13? Third episode we see a different side to the accused and he certainly doesn't show any sign of remorse. I found the CCTV chap a bit disturbing during his scenes with the psychiatrist!!! Final episode was of a family full of despair trying hard to keep it together. Stephen Graham had me in tears at the end scene. I'd have liked an additional episode to focus on the victim's family and what they were going through. Overall I loved the way it was filmed which made it feel more realistic and the acting for the most part was fantastic. Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham thoroughly deserved their Emmys.

Really enjoyed the series. A bit batsh*t bonkers at times but sometimes people do these things. Great cast. Quality all round. Poor Daniel stuck in the middle of two obsessive women What could possibly go wrong?....

Gripping detective drama with a difference. A mix of Danish, Polish and French with subtitles and English. Just started season 2 which is another storyline with DNA and a cross border tale at the heart of it. Most of the characters from series one continue into S2 as does the unfinished business from S1, as an ongoing theme. A great watch, heartbreaking at times. A couple of really likeable characters and good acting. Very binge watchable.

Fantastic cast. Really enjoyed this series. Plenty of tension and suspense.

So good I watched the series twice. Laughed and cried. I'm not usually a fan of Ricky Gervais but I absolutely loved this series. Not sure it needs a follow up though. The final scene and the other one in hospital as well as a few from earlier episodes had me in tears and others in hysterical laughter.

Best thing about it was the characters on the police team. Boy did they love their food LOL. Only four episodes which in this case was more than enough for the plot.

Not much to say apart from a bit disappointing. I liked the main actress in the role of Kat but in the end the character seemed a bit too ready to forgive everyone everything. Lots of unanswered questions about the farm op. Not a very convincing storyline but then again, it is fiction. Not the best from the Harlan Coben camp. Why is Richard Armitage in every blooming series?

Joanne Froggatt as a cabinet minister? Nah. Woefully miscast. I don't rate her acting at all. This series feels like a poor remake of something far better. Having said that, I liked the developing storyline of the relationship between the two main detectives and other characters. It's been set up for a follow up series as there is potential for drama in the British detective's ongoing side story. Overall it's just ok.

What a gem. Fantastic casting. A story of contrasting cruelty and kindness. Such a good version once again from the BBC. .
