What evades me in this movie is motivation. WHY does Alexis father despise her. WHY does Alexis have sex with cars. Why does Alexis go on a murdering rampage. Why does the father take her in. If you can suspend any rational footing of motivation, the movie is an enthralling story full of fantastic actors and scenes. But, for me, knowing a little more about where the characters are coming from would have made the movie a more engaging experience over all.

As the second born existing in the shadow cast by the "sun" of my older brother, I find the story and characters both extremely relatable and compelling. If all outcast children knew of the sacrifices of their parents for them it would begin to bridge the gap of familial resentments. It is a testament to the character of A-Ho that he can bridge the divide in ignorance. A beautiful image of grace and love on the face of tragedy and pain.
