I really wanted to love this book. I just felt underwhelmed throughout the whole thing though. Maybe it’s that it lacks depth? Or that it comes off as constant name dropping and pop culture references of the time period? I assume that’s an attempt at setting the scene, but it’s too much and unnecessary. After reading the whole thing I felt like the author might be writing it with the goal of screen adaptation which, frankly, would be more entertaining for this particular story.
