Padmavat movie is not about Padmavati but about Khilji. This is the first thing you should know. Its not like makers have made a hero out of Khilji but you get the feeling that his lust for a beautiful woman has been constantly been termed or converted to "Ishq & Mohabbat" and in the last scene of Shahid Kapoor when he says about morals, Ranveer says to win is the motto of war. So now we are not talking about a rapist but a villain waging a war for love and everything is fair in love and war. This is a pathetic message from the movie. Talking about Padmavati or Deepika, she will only be remembered for Ghoomar dance. After movie ends you always question yourself that I came to see heroism of Padmavati or her item number only on classical song. Shahid the hero of the movie looked good but you will get surprised he didn't had any solo song while the villain had two songs in his kitty and the most annoying is when he sings if " Ek dil hai, ek jaan hai" for Padmavati then glimpses of Ranveer Singh is also shown in the song like a lover waiting for Padmavati. Its the most disgusting thing. And here it again shows the intention of makers of portraying Khilji's lust as love and making this immoral war into a war for love. Overall a disappointing movie if you go for Rajputs and Padmavati but you can find it entertaining if you go for the Khalnayak.
