I am new to Homeland. But now hooked. It is much more nuanced than I expected and I love its honest take in mental illness in all its unglamorous raw reality. I am only on Series 2 but find Danes performance completely compelling. Having only ever seen Lewis before as Henry V111, I find his portrayal convincing and poignant especially his love for the little boy he was asked to teach English and his moral outrage at the drone strike that killed him. It is so interesting that Carrie asking Dana to phone him saved his life even though she was thought to be crazy.
