NEVER have I had such a visceral, physical reaction to a non-physical experience. It was an hour and a half long heart pounding adrenaline rush - whilst sitting in bed at home. I feel like I just survived a near death experience. I feel entirely exhausted. There were scenes so intense I literally had to cover my eyes - multiple times I did this. The scariest horror movies I’ve seen did not even come close to extracting the reaction this movie did. Beyond intense. Wow.

A fascinating look into the bowels of the world’s biggest Ponzi scheme, and how it devastated so many people, personally and financially. The minimalist, eerie soundtrack is so well suited to the story. The acting is understated and entirely believable. I wasn’t sure my mind would allow me to see the Madoffs, or if I would see Michelle Pfieffer and Robert Dinero. I saw the Madoffs. Highly recommend.

It’s one of those movies I opt to watch every time it’s on, I just can’t help myself! The writing is top shelf, the special effects are perfect, the acting couldn’t have been better. On top of that, the storyline is somehow believable, ha! Galaxy Quest has a sense of purity and heart at it’s core. You don’t get that often with a big budget movie, let alone a comedy. Despite all the laughs, and there are many, don’t be surprised if you get a bit misty eyed at the end. P.S. if you look really closely you just might spot Dwight from The Office!

A movie only for people who love this genre. This was one of the more “bare bones” post-apocalyptic movies I’ve seen. Slow pace, few characters, not a lot of action. I feel like this is the aesthetic they were aiming for (simple plot, uncomplicated characters), but again, it’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea. As an end of the world movie aficionado, I found it held my attention, and that is good enough for me to give it three stars. There were a few glaring plot holes. The hardcore gun wielding prepper who sells medicine for paper dollars? Completely unbelievable. Would never happen. The 13 year old girl aimlessly wandering off in search of entertainment - as explosions are occurring every few hours and everyone around her is clearly distressed? Nope, not happening. But they were going for that head scratcher of an ending, so….13 year old girl instincts be damned.

Utterly dull movie with an array of characters whose only motivation appears to be scandalous sexual encounters. Warren Beatty plays gigolo George, a philandering hairdresser with a dream of owning his own business. Unfortunately George seems more like a bag in the wind than a human being with a functioning brain; tossed about from one sexual escapade to the next.

Though there won’t be any Oscar nom’s for this one, it was well worth the watch. The mark of a good movie is one can get you emotionally invested in the characters, and this one did. To come from nothing, and to rise to the level of candidate for Vice President of the USA, that is the American Dream, folks.
