I sat down to watch with snacks. Great cast and top of the Netflix chart. Disappointed. In the beginning, you see tension between Kevin Bacon and Julia Roberts and you think there will be anarchy with people looting houses. NO Then you think there will be an affair between the house owner and Julia. NO All the strange things happen but you don't get why? It's so disjointed and left open to interpretation. There is obvious racism from both families. But the calmness is the most annoying thing. If I were sat on a beach and a huge ship washed up on the beach I wouldn't be calmly strolling to my car. Ethan Hawke is so cold and unnatural it's painful. The daughter's obsession with friends is a dig at the parents' lack of attention. But none of the relationships are explored or explained, just hints. Ends with you making your own mind up to what happens next!
