Immense film. Seen it about four times and never watched it the same way. A masterpiece of ambitious film making. Choreography is unbelievable, the scale of the work bewildering and sheer number of actors involved, astounding. Conversely, it is sad this film bankrupt Tati. It would've been great that he understood the place this work has in people's hearts all these years on and how appreciated it is. Tati brings a profound romance and poignancy into his films as if we're on the chaotic journey with Monsieur Hulot. His films capture the old France transitioning to the new, modern iterations with a great sense of fun and empathy. Playtime is the last stop on this grand voyage.
