comedy but not very funny. slasher horror but not really horrifying. mild cop buddy elements that come out of nowhere. it falls flat of the genres it tries to encapsulate by juggling too much and relies on tropes to tell its story. not to mention the sheer amount of predictable trope subversion. the female main character is unbearable and isn't given enough time to flesh out a personality or to make me care about her. the only thing the male main character had going for him was his charisma. the twist was unexpected, and unwelcome, turning the drama in "horror comedy" to melodrama. the choice of villain was mixed, as there was some "oh that's kind of smart" and "that's really stupid and weird and honestly i'm more bored and unimpressed than anything." plus... you know it's a bad movie when you start rooting for the main character to get killed. this movie was such an unbelievable letdown. i want my money back, and i watched it on netflix on someone else's account.
