HEADS UP: I did not watch past the first 2 episodes, so my opinions are solely based on what I have seen personally while some are from looking up other info that I haven't seen directly from watching the series.
I don't think I could even give a 2 star for this series, got to the second episode and felt nothing but wanting to close the tab entirely. From animation to characters this fell far from the previous series, Legends of Awesomeness, and while it isn't flawless to compare and contrast series to one another this one seems like it got the short end of the stick with its quality.
The first episode has almost no other animal models aside from the same exact rabbit for more than half the episode it felt like while almost every other was the capybara looking animals with a few pigs thrown in there. In the previous series they at least changed the textures for clothing on the far more appealing rabbits as opposed to the redundant red and yellow attire these newer characters wear.
The animation itself is also a HUGE concern for the stature this studio/franchise holds. I as an animation student would expect some of what I've seen from my own or my peers work, not from a multi-million/billion-dollar brand, from walking/running to Po eating the noodles in the first episode it was very hard to keep interest.
As for the newer characters someone else worded it pretty well; the knight doesn't seem to give off England aesthetic aside from the seemingly forced accent, and this goes double for the ferret duo. The design of one out of these three characters comes close to making me believe they're not from China. Overall, this series from the first 2 episodes seems like they relied heavily on copy paste. I understand studios have deadlines, but for a series streamed on Netflix as opposed to airing on TV I feel there would have been some leniency to a delayed showing for the sake of making their cast not feel monotonous.
The reviews that gave it 2 stars more or less summed up everything I did not add perfectly, from a lack of familiar faces to the story itself. I personally cannot force myself to keep watching this after having been part of the movies and previous series, but to those that want to look into this yourself I hope you enjoy it yourself and/or the studio improves and succeeds this season's quality in the future.
