The Barbie movie was horrifying and disappointing. Barbie is suppose to be for kids but I would NEVER have my children watch this type of content. This movie is not child friendly and is too exploitive. It starts off by exposing the term “death” to innocent minds.
I cannot understand why Matel thought it was reasonable to discuss death in a children’s movie.
Ken wants to spend the night at Barbie’s house and alludes he that thinks they are supposed to do something and doesn’t know what before Barbie turns him down. As the movie continues, a man tells Barbie he wishes he could fit in her pants while men catcall to her.
Barbie is slapped on the behind aggressively by a strange man. Barbie explained to a man for some reason that she does not have a vagina and ken explained he does not have a penis. The teenager who initially owned the Barbie doll proceeded to ask Barbie is she was a bimbo and tell her she was over sexualized. The teenager proceeded to speak about feminism which was randomly odd.
I left the movie early. Other viewers in the theatre were audibly shocked at the nonsense we were hearing. There were constantly disappointing gasps. All of the men in the movie acted completely clueless and feminine.
