I really wanted to like Masters of the Air but oh boy what a cliché this mini series is. The CGI isn't the best but I would be prepared to over look that if the storyline was captivating, But it isn't. Its difficult to find the characters "likable" because they've been written as modern day, brash, movie hero's that you'd find in a action movie, with cheesy one liners, perfect hair and Hollywood good looks. There is not real heading for the story line and its just not realistic, for example jeeps overloaded with cheering aircrews diving between taxing aircraft and locals roaming all over the air base is just ridiculous. Then there's your typical "everyone else in the war is useless" which is frankly insulting to all allied service personnel. I actually find the portrayal of the characters in Masters of the Air as insulting to the memory of all those American aircrew that served. They weren't brash and egotistical like they are portrayed in this. Hard to believe this revisionist trash came from some of the writers of BOB, you should be ashamed.
