The Netflix live action has given me reason to give this movie a second chance and honestly it's not NEARLY as bad as I remembered it being. It's not actually a 5 star movie but it does things better in many places than the live action version on Netflix. Both this movie and the show are flawed adaptations that have their own takes on how to portray the cartoon and both are SERIOUSLY paced badly in that they try covering too much too fast. However I will say the movie despite that crazy pacing still did a better job staying true to the cartoon. I loved the cartoon and originally hated this movie but I have a new found appreciation for it despite its obvious flaws largely thanks to Netlfix. Zhao for example is done far better in the movie than the show.

This shouldn't be called Avatar. I tried giving it a chance and there Were some positives but it was largely disappointing. I watched the first 2 episodes and decided to Not continue. Iv heard from others that it gets way better after the first 2 but that's sad. The original show writers walked away because of Creative differences and I see it now why. I highly recommend just rewatching the animated series and waiting for the new animated production to come out next year. This live action show in many ways was no better than the live action movie...and that's..something.

My reviews are almost always 5 stars because I rarely ever feel moved enough to want to come on here and type out a review to begin with. This movie was very good but it's rated so low because most people Didn't Actually watch it and just went off influencer and critic opinions instead of forming their own thoughts on it. A big gripe many people seem to have with the movie is a line that's said by the black daughter. I assure you the line does come off as racy but it makes sense with context...as in watch the movie and you'll see why she said the line to begin with. Ultimately, that very daughter and the white family's mother both Spoiler Alert .. grow closer to each other as the movie progresses. That's all I'll say on that. But those 2 people in particular start off a bit racy towards each other. Funny part though is that influencers and critics only want to highlight that black girls line.. Formulate your own opinion and don't be a hive minded sheep like so many others. The movies not perfect but is very good...unless you need people in costumes pretending to shoot lasers out there eyes to be entertained.

Movies that are mediocre seem to be the movies highest rated by critics. This movie should've gotten higher ratings. It's one of the better movies iv seen in recent years. Take what "professional" critics day with a big grain of salt. They're paid to promote and diss movies, not give honest reviews. This, Rebel moon, leave the world behind...all movies better than their ratings. Watch them for yourself

Watch It For Yourself! It is NOT perfect but it is Definitely good and I'm excited about part 2 that'll be out in a short while. It's an intro movie into a new world not called Marvel, or Star wars and so on and as such it makes sense why this movie was set up the way it is. People will point out similarities to Star Wars but you can do the same thing of Star wars to other science fiction new and old. Lastly, I'm pretty sure Disney who owns Star Wars has paid off these "professional" critics. Watch it for yourself
