I usually never write reviews but I cannot stop thinking about this movie. I don’t know much about animation but this all looked amazing and kept my attention, something that a lot of fight scenes fail to do. I loved the colors and the way they visually displayed how Aki sees the future with bursts of color. The pacing was amazing and I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie. I even teared up a bit at the end which rarely happens to me (besides in look back, one of fujimotos other works) The symbolism of the spider cocooning a butterfly and symbolizing Reze and Denji. And the scene where they cut between the two of them in the pool versus drowning was AMAZING. There was so much character growth for particularly Denji, but also Aki and his new partner Angel. I think devils are starting to grow on him. I have a sinking feeling that this movie won’t win anime movie of the year since less people will see it compared to the demon slayer movie. But I honestly enjoyed this one more. The pacing was a lot better and I felt like the character got to shine so much. (Besides Power 😭) The ending showing Makima kill Reze has really proven that she is the real villain of the story, not the gun devil.
