I fell in love with this mini-series!!! I was looking for something to watch and stumbled upon this one and I was hooked from the very beginning. I felt like I was on a journey with Beth and I was rooting for her all the way. The different stages in her life made you understand why she acted the way that she did. Although I know nothing about chess, this drama made me care about how chess players, enthusiast, etc... feel and I developed a deep respect for the game. You do not have to know anything about chess to love this piece because it is so much more than that. It deals with rejection, abandonment, mental illness, addiction and finding one's path through life. The sets and locations were just amazing! The clothes and make-up were flawless! Every actor brought something deep and amazing to each character but Anya Taylor-Joy transcended time and space in playing Beth! By the end, I was actually clapping and cheering!
