Not realistic at all . A Korean man who is able to speak that SUPER FLUENT ENGLISH . Using all the senses of humor , slang and culturally assimilated would not run a convenient store, if you ever been to Stores run by Koreans , like convenient , liquour and dry cleaner , is mostly ran by 1st gen. Korean. They definitely speak enough english to see their customers. But not that fluent level as this man does.

This man (Phil)does not enjoy eating . He does not have an appetite ..watched couple episodes , specially in Korea. he did not enjoy any of the Korean food , he was just acting politely.. and tried couple bites and done. Never see him finishing a meal .not just in Korea and other countries as well..In other episodes he does not show that much enthusiasm with the food.. may be a he can be a good host as traveling tv show . Not for a food show. I bet in real life he is so boring , he just eats peanut butter and jelly.. and very picky.. I am a Hibachi chef and I bet if he ever goes to A Japanese steak house he will get just sushi with no raw fish allergic to shelfish , No onion , No ginger sauce and plain chicken breast no teriyaki. And will not finish the meal and will take to go home and trash it. There is nothing wrong having a simple meal or healthy but truly this man is not for this kind of show!
