I feel like this movie could've been so much better! It was very slow at times hard to stay interested. There should have been more context to their love story, flashbacks maybe, something to stay engaged or explain why he liked her. The main character Pia was very unlikable a lot of the movie. She was very self-absorbed and seemed to feel superior to others in an almost deluded way. Even though she was not successful or doing well. Her storyline was dry and disappointing. She was rude to everyone around her with the exception of her gay bestie. Charlie (Hero) was endearing and sweet the entire movie. She was just rude to him over and over again. I think main characters need to be humble so you want to root for them. In my opinion this movie needed more Charlie and less Pia story. He was likeable and she was really not. There was a severe lack of romance in this supposedly romantic movie. I found myself re-writing this story in my head the way I wished it had been the entire time.

I loved this movie. The plot was unexpected and the romance, though it did not turn out the way I wanted but it was very cute. It was very true to high school. Not like all the typical highschool movies you've seen before. She ends up finding who she is and people who really care about her at the end. I do hope there's an honor society two so Michael can learn the error of his ways and maybe they end up together but that's just the romantic in me. Great watch!
