After watching the film, all cosy and in the comfort of my own home, and then reading some of the reviews, I reflected on the emotions and thoughts that I had felt during the film.
My initial thought was that I had really enjoyed it. For some reason it has a feel good factor despite the terrible loss throughout the film.
I then thought that it was clever, with the whole theses thing and the way the story lines intertwined. Yes, it was predictable after you saw little Rigo on the bus that he was going to meet Dylan eventually, but I also really wanted him to meet her.
I have seen some negative/ offensive reviews on this film but this was just What I needed at that time. A film that kept me in suspense, that shocked me, made me laugh and made me cry.
Yes, there were parts that dragged and were a little weird but if you like This is US then you will like this. If you don't like it, you probably won't like it.
Watch it on your own in your PJs.
Ps Antonio Bandares story telling scene. That is all.
