Given the challenges and changes of the present times this book by Ravi Chaudhry is absolutely relevant today. The book underscores the essential need for a change in our existing concepts, models and methods of leadership and governance. The emphasis on the shift of focus from capital to focus on people is the only way to improve the society because history shows how increasing economic imbalances lead to instability and disruption. The book interestingly highlights the difference between knowledge and wisdom and mentions the ‘paradox of change’ syndrome. Rightfully our fates are determined both by our choices and our abilities. The book conveys the virtues of being as much being ‘value strong’ as we are ‘skill strong’. Peopleism is about fairness, not levelling. Everyone should be given an opportunity to succeed and the participation in this mission has to come both from the government as well as the public. The author has to be congratulated for suggesting a logical roadmap for a better future.
