Terrible. Recreated none of the magic of the first one. The pop culture references are still there, but they’re very mainstream and go on for far too long. The sense of urgency in the quest is minimal, despite the best efforts of a generic plot point to push it all forward. Wade is even less likable than in the first one, as now he has absolute power and no sense of boundaries. He’s a walking red flag that any woman would see and RUN in the opposite direction from. It’s hard to root for a guy like that.
Zero critical thinking went into the ending or message, and the epilogue makes the infamous Harry Potter epilogue look like Shakespeare. Just... terrible.
