Overall, it is really good. Rather a shame that it was inspired by already existing elements of the HP franchise, I would have loved an introductory prequel or otherwise more thoroughly original characters in a second book. The lore is its own thing, mystical and passionately put together but densely and hurriedly enmeshed with the plot. Regardless, the book explores a lot of political and religious dynamics in its storytelling and it's quite hard to put it down once you give it a chance.
