I feel like if there are any period piece movies, around slavery, that everyone needs to see, it's this one. Will Smith delivered probably some of the best acting of his career here. Emancipation is such an excellent movie that stays objective in retelling the past in a truthful and unbiased way. It's emotional and deserving of praise. Seeing what Peter had to live through was horrifying and educational, but doesn't come off as preachy. 10/10.
