Like many other life long Star Wars fans I was excited and looking forward to the new Obi-Wan series. This excitement soon turned to disappointment after watching the first 3 episodes. Im not sure what has been more disappointing. The directing, the storyline or the characters and their development. But what stands out most is the not so subtle erosion of strong male characters. OBI-WAN is a Jedi!! Yet this series has evidently stripped him of everything he every learned during that training. Its cringe worthy. As is the multiple slow speed chase scenes with a young Leia. But the saddest and most laughable moment comes when Obi-Wan meets Vader again....and literally runs away like a scared boy. Ugh. It shouldn't be this hard. People want their good guys and heroes to strong and brave. They want their evil bad guys to be dark, mysterious and mostly silent. Instead we get an immasculated shell of a former Jedi and a bunch of petulent overly talkative bad guys running around on roof tops that looks more like a Batman movie than Star Wars. In the end this show might as well have been called Leia- Origin Story. Either way its been another in a long list of Disney disappointments.
