Honestly, I am glad that they decide to animate this arc as a film. Especially adapting this film for a theatrical release. To start it off, the pacing for the plot and story was well done. Scenes don't feel like they are being dragged on. Also, what differentiates this film to many other shonen type movies is they don't rely on flashbacks or past events in order to build on this arc's plot. I find that impressive because it makes scenes in the movie transition smoothly, without wasting time on prior events to the film. The visuals within the film were done very well. Especially the colors, animation style, and quality were done for this movie. It highlighted both important scenes and small details within the plot The sound and music in this film were amazing. Having a good mix of different types of music styles played within the movie. The theme songs "Iris Out" and "Jane Doe" were a great fit for this movie. This movie gives the audience a mix of a variety of anime genres packed into one. Such as seeing slice of life moments, horror, romance, suspense, comedic moments, and of course high intense action-packed scenes. Without spoiling the film, I would say it is definitely a must watch film. Rereading and rewatching the film I start to notice more of the hidden symbolism and messages that is depicted within the movie. Tatsuki Fujimoto really did a great job writing this story arc in the manga. Likewise, Studio MAPPA really did this arc justice, by bringing Fujimoto's work to life onto the big screen. If you want to get the full experience I recommend watching this film in theaters, preferably in IMAX or 3D format. This movie is a cannot miss, especially if your Chainsaw Man manga or anime fan.
